Cad Tech

Services Overview

3D Solid Modeling
  • From the simple to the complex, CAD Tech can support any of your CAD modeling needs.
  • Our design team provides modeling expertise to work with your designers and engineers to develop 3D CAD data sets.
Mechanical Design
  • The general criteria used by a designer at CAD Tech are as follows:
    • Form, Fit, Function
    • Safety
    • Reliability
    • Cost
    • Manufacturability
    • Marketability
  • Every design concept that we have engaged in is clearly identified with our customer. Usually we can identify the direction of most projects with in the first meeting.
  • How can we do this? We gather the most effective resources within our group to identify the issues above. Our customer has called on us for support and results. Most companies lack the variety of resources such as manufacturing, industrial design, analysis group, toolmakers and a full service marketing team.
Product Design
  • CAD Tech has designed numerous products with industrial design being a very critical path in the design process.
  • Our staffs of design engineers have extensive experience in a wide variety of disciplines and products.
  • Concentrating on tolerance and fitment issues in 3-D models and complex assemblies leads to perfectly manufactured products requiring minimal revisions to the design.
  • The list below includes some of the product design work we have executed:
    • Over 500 Sheet metal components for the motor sports industries.
    • Motocross exhaust systems
    • Aerospace assemblies
    • RC helicopter components
    • Heat furnaces
    • Vacuum assemblies
    • Tube Suspension Systems
File Conversion
  • CAD Tech has extensive experience in generating 3D solid geometry from 2D drawing. This can be of use in several situations such as:
    • Scenario 1
You have legacy paper drawings or 2D CAD drawings of extensive products that you now would like in 3D solids for use in future design projects. This is often the case when companies make the transition from 2D data to 3D CAD data.
    • Scenario 2
Your customer supplies you with 2D drawings or 2D CAD files however you would like 3D solids for better design interface or for surface data for CNC programming.
    • Scenario 3
Your supplier or fabrication shop request 3D solids or surface data from you, but you have done all your design in 2D.
Reverse Engineering
  • Reverse engineering becomes necessary when one of the following occurs:
    • You want to replicate a part or tool but the 2D or 3D documentation is unavailable.
    • You are integrating OEM equipment into a system and you need dimensional information and 3D models to create assembly documentation and manuals.
    • Reverse engineering can be accomplished by either using physical measurement devices (such as calipers, scales, tape measures, etc.). The result being a complete 3D CAD model and drawing set which can now be used for fabrication and/or documentation purposes.
